Welcome to the website for the
Faringdon Community Ball

This years event will be held on Saturday 19th November at the Sudbury House Hotel.  Tickets are currently on sale at £45 each.

The event is black tie and starts at 6:30pm with a welcome drink and after an opportunity to mix and mingle with friends, you will be served a delicious three course meal from the kitchen of the award winning Magnolia Brasserie.
There will be the usual spot prizes and a game of “heads and tails” and the chance to buy raffle tickets and peruse the list of fantastic prizes in our raffle and auction.  This year we will be running a silent auction of some truly amazing experiences and mementos.

After the auction, The Subway Band from Witney will provide musical entertainment until 12:30am.
The concept for the “Community Ball” is pretty simple. Your table nominates a charity and they will benefit from a share of the proceeds from the evening.  Last year was our biggest and best ball yet and just over £5,000 was raised and was split between eleven charities including the infants school at Faringdon and the primary schools at Shellingford and Shrivenham, the Faringdon Twinning Association, the Farcycles cycling group, the Pink Pigeon’s Trust, the Faringdon United Charity, the Pennyhooks Project in Shrivenham, the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Mission Motorsport (who aid the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through motorsport).  Over half of this was raised on the night from an auction of several exclusive “experiences” and a raffle made up of prizes generously donated by local retailers and companies.

The venue was filled to capacity for the first time in this event’s nine year history and there was even an impromptu appearance from Faringdon’s very own celebrity chef  – Nick Bennett, then appearing in “Masterchef – The Professionals”.  After service had concluded, local band “Locomotion” played two hours of Motown classics, which filled the dancefloor until late into the night.

One party goer said afterwards “It was such a fabulous evening… full of fun, friends, funky dancing, fab food and frolics”.
